Johrei is an innovative healing art based on Master Jinsai’s discoveries concerning the science of life. The practice of the Johrei is based on the recognition that humans are not solely phisycal beings but primarily spiritual and phisically. When the Johrei is perfomed, the three fundamental elements (fire, water and soil) that pervade the universe are concentrated and then transmitted from the hands of the practitioner. It eliminates impurities that obstruct good health and enhances the natural healing power inherent in humans, with the result that the person being treated attains good health, both physical and spiritual.

Illnesses and their cures

People generally tend to view an illness as the harmfull effects of forces that are attacking all or part of the human body. However, according to Master Jinsai’s views on pathology, illnesses are actually purifications that result in better health, both spiritual and physical. Master Jinsai’s explicated the principles of a healing method based on the premise that the causes of illness are impurities that arise in the human spirit. When the spirit is cleansed and purified, the body, too, becomes healthy.
